A New Life In New Zealand
Ever considered packing everything in and moving to the "land of the long white cloud" ? Well that's exactly what we did and those of you who watched the BBC TV series GET A NEW LIFE will have had a glimpse of what our first few months in New Zealand were like. We moved here for all sorts of reasons but the main motive was to try and find a better lifestyle as a young family. Many people consider leaving their home country in search of a better life and in the UK alone 250,000 people will do just that each year.
So Why New Zealand ?
Like a lot of Brits we looked at Australia before New Zealand but after comparing the two countries it appeared New Zealand had all the positives of living in Australia without the negatives (poisonous creatures)
NZ has a temperate climate and the area we were looking at moving to , Tauranga in the Bay Of Plenty, is one of the sunniest areas. Education is good and we would also get a beach lifestyle for the kids. A safer and less stressfull life is always appealing and New Zealand offers this.
The Story So Far......
We have been in New Zealand for three years now and have lived in Tauranga and Hamilton. We have set up and ran a car grooming franchise. Set up and sold a recording studio. ABOUT THIS SITE
I'm new to this website design lark but hopefully things will get better as we go along. The idea is to give some insight into life in NZ. We will post our thoughts and observations and keep you informed of what we are up to. As you can see we are motivated people so hopefully this will keep things interesting. I guess the big question when you are looking at emigrating is what is it really like. Well hopefully our book answers that question and this site will be an extension of the book. The next chapter if you like.....
THE FUTURE
Our lives are still changing especially in our careers but we are very settled in NZ and love the lifestyle. Living in a new country forces you to re-evaluate your position and our recent return to the UK to launch the book their has cured our homesickness. We are still pushing to open even more doors and create more opportunities. The move has changed us as people and has changed our outlook on life.
